Virtual Doula ServicesVirtual Doula - Connie Sultana - Childbirth Services

Can you really have a doula provide support at a distance? Yup! I’ve been doing it and it works!

In a Virtual Platform, I can provide almost everything I offer in person:

  • help to find a comfortable positionVirtual Support - Connie Sultana - Childbirth Services
  • reminders about rest, hydration and nutrition
  • breathing, relaxation and coping skills
  • help to answer questions
  • help to formulate questions for medical care-providers
  • guidance for your partner through hands-on body work

Please know that most hospitals are allowing a second support person to be present if they are a Certified Doula.

The main goal of my work is to make my heart and mind available to my clients. It’s been a lonely journey for many pregnant people. I can be a companion on the journey, an experienced navigator and a knowledgeable objective guide who deeply cares. I am accessible prenatally, during birth, and in the postpartum period to answer questions regarding pregnancy, the birth process & proposed interventions, and caring for mom and baby in the postpartum period. I also guide families to foundational resources.

During Covid-times Some parents have requested a combination of in-person and virtual. For example, virtual support prior to labor, in-person the day of labor. We can make all options work. I will also keep you up-to-date on Covid protocols at your birth location.

My Virtual Doula Service includes:

  • complementary initial interview
  • 4 extensive (often more) prenatal visits on a virtual platform

  • an extensive “Doula Box” of supplies I would typically bring in-person to birth
  • frequent contact as your baby’s birth date approaches
  • live guided visualization and meditation opportunities with me
  • 24 hour on-call support from 38-42 weeks in pregnancy
  • birth support, possibly in-person prior to leaving for birth location
  • 1 -2 postpartum and breastfeeding assistance virtual visits
  • back-up support by highly qualified doula partners
  • optional childbirth classes at a reasonable additional fee

Cost
The cost for my services is $2000. In an effort to make my services accessible, I allow you to set the price based on what you can afford in the $1800-$2100 range. No explanation is needed. Payment plans are available. Each time a client pays my full fee, $100 is set aside toward me providing support to those who would never be able to pay for labor support services. If we are having in-person meetings in San Francisco, there is a $300 travel fee. I have attended 900+ births, trained doulas, nurses and medical students for over 25 years and taught Childbirth Classes to thousands of couples. Home birth and free-standing Birth Center/Community Birth clients please contact me directly to discuss fees.
